Prior to Your Arrival:

To save time and reduce the risk of chaperones becoming separated from your group, we recommend that the teacher in charge collect money from the paying chaperones.

Please teach the children to respect the animals.
  • Teasing, taunting, throwing objects in exhibits, and feeding the animals "people food" are strictly prohibited.
  • Remind the children that staying behind the barriers is very important.  The fences, ropes, and other barriers are all there for the protection of the humans as well as for the animals.
  • Stress the importance of not littering.  All guests should utilize the numerous trash receptacles located throughout the park.

At the Zoo:

Have the bus stop in front of the Gift Shop and only the teacher in charge of payment exit the bus and proceed to the Admission Gate with cash, check, or credit card and the completed Field Trip Admission Work Sheet.

If there are any adults with your group who are paying separately, have them exit the bus at this time as well.

For safety, please keep the children on the bus until Zoo personnel board and provide instructions.  The children will then exit the bus and await the teachers' return.

Once your group has deboarded, please enter the Zoo for your final field trip preparations (grouping with chaperones).

Your group is welcome to explore our exciting Zoovenir Gift Shop; we ask that you limit your group and have one chaperone for every ten children.
